"Enjoying more peace of mind"
Recent research has discovered the average person thinks as many as 100,000 thoughts every day – approximately one thought every second! Most people spend their days jumping from thought to thought and experience a roller-coaster of emotions as a direct consequence. If you engage with all of the movement of your mind then you can experience unnecessary levels of stress and suffering during your life.
Moving beyond conventional thinking by changing your relationship with your mind can help you to navigate yourself towards and reconnect with ever deepening levels of inner peace in a permanent way. (Yes, I said, permanent!) This is possible because you are not your thoughts. Instead, you are the consciousness that is aware of your thoughts. And that consciousness is permanently still, vast and infinitely peaceful.
If this sounds rather esoteric or abstract then take a moment to make it more real and practical for yourself by closing your eyes and counting how many thoughts you have during the next 30 seconds. The number of thoughts you count is irrelevant. What’s important is the fact that you can count them in the first place because if you were your thoughts you wouldn’t be able to do it.
Much of the stress and suffering people experience is because they are focused on the content of their mind rather than the context in which the movement of their mind happens. They are focused on the thoughts, rather than the vast stillness in which the thoughts take place. Imagine you are outside on a clear sunny day, looking up at the sky. Then, out of the blue, a bird flies across your field of vision and without realising you take your attention away from the vast sky and follow the flight of the bird. The same happens in your mind. Thoughts are movement in your mind, yet, they all happen within the context of infinite stillness and space. By learning to let your attention rest on the stillness, rather than on the constant movement, you can experience levels of peace and rest far beyond what you thought possible.
Ultimately, it’s how you relate to your mind that matters. The moment you become aware of and place your attention upon the vast stillness of who you truly are, you will see your problems stop being problems. And you will find that you instantly reconnect with what you’ve been searching for your entire life.
