COMMON MIND-BASED CAUSES

Vulnerable, powerless to the impact of other people’s words +/or actions, no control, unable to get what you think you need, resistance to the past, victim mentality, unloved, rejected, abandoned, unwanted, lack of compassion.

UNDERSTANDING HURT : Hurt is never caused by anyone else. I know this is a big statement to make so I invite you to remain open-minded. We live in a world where nobody has the power to emotionally hurt us. You see, you don’t feel hurt because of what someone has said or done, even if everyone would agree it was horrible or wrong. Hurt is caused by what you are doing within you, on your side of the fence, inside your own mind. You feel hurt because you are thinking about what’s happened and in doing so, you are ‘feeling your thinking’. It is the habit of feeling your inner thinking that creates the inner experience of hurt. 

It can be very empowering to recognise that nobody has the power to hurt you. That anytime you are hurt you have accidentally given your power away by thinking about what has been said or done. Becoming aware of your thoughts can help you to be the observer of your internal self-speak, not get so caught up in the 'hurtful story' and in doing so, free yourself from hurt. Make it a priority to be a calm and loving force for good in this world. Do you want to be right or do you want to be peaceful? If someone has acted in a ‘hurtful’ way, rise above the story by being willing to see them through compassionate eyes. Compassion is a combination of love and wisdom and is about not getting in the hole to 'suffer with the other person'. Instead, remain calm and caring by remembering that, if given the conscious choice, everyone would choose to experience peace, love and be happy. If someone you know doesn't know how to be peaceful, loving or happy, yet, then they need your compassion no criticism. 

Rise high into happiness by inwardly wishing them well on their path to peace.
